Williamsburg, VA – Residents were left scratching their heads and reaching for ketchup this week as a mysterious black ring was spotted floating above town. While some speculated it was a UFO or an elaborate prank, the more imaginative locals quickly concluded that it was, in fact, a giant airborne onion ring on a joyride.
“I swear I could smell the fried goodness from here,” said one hungry onlooker, binoculars in one hand and a bottle of ranch dressing in the other. “It was like the heavens opened up and gave us a sign. A delicious, crispy sign.”
As townsfolk gazed skyward, the ring hovered teasingly, almost as if daring someone to catch it. A local child even attempted to lasso it with a jump rope, to no avail.
