The U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing inadvertently issued these bills with matching serial numbers from different printing facilities, creating a collector’s goldmine. These bills must have the “Series 2013” label, a “B” Federal Reserve Seal, and a serial number ending in a star, ranging between specific series to be considered valuable. Matched pairs of these bills have been estimated to sell for between $20,000 and $150,000, depending on their condition and rarity. Only a handful of these matched pairs have been discovered, making them highly sought after in the collector’s market.
