Alligator Auditions for Air Force: An Unwelcome Runway Surprise!

by Eric Gauvin

In a peculiar case of mistaken location, a 10-foot alligator fancied itself the newest recruit at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. The gator made an unscheduled appearance on the runway, settling comfortably under a plane’s landing gear, much to the dismay (and bemusement) of onlookers. The local wildlife commission was called to the scene, safely escorting the scaly intruder to the nearby Hillsborough River. This unexpected visit was humorously attributed to another large local alligator, Elvis, potentially pushing the gator off its usual turf.
