At the tender age of 69, David Clarkson, a retiree with a thirst for adventure (and beer), embarked on a legendary journey that would make even the most seasoned barflies blush. In a feat that sounds more like a plot for a comedy movie, Clarkson hopped through an astonishing 120 pubs in just 24 hours, all in the name of breaking a Guinness World Record.
Starting at the Captain Cook Hotel in Sydney, which presumably prepared him for the boozy voyage ahead, Clarkson navigated through 119 more pubs like a seasoned captain sailing through a sea of ale. Joined by a Guinness World Records Adjudicator who clearly had one of the best gigs of his career, Clarkson was determined to outdrink the record previously held by Australians who managed a mere 99 pubs.
His historical pub crawl ended triumphantly at the Sussex Garden Bar, where he was probably too sloshed to even remember his own world-breaking achievement. But hey, records were broken, beers were downed, and legends were made!
